Its been ages that I updated this blog with the events of my life. So much as happened in these three months. A job was lost, a new one was gained. A short trip to Hong Kong as a part of the new job, a new laptop found its way to my home, a cell phone lost, a cell phone gained/
Let me begin with the cell phone saga, It all began when I wanted to wash my jeans which happens once in a bluemoon. I kept my cell in the front pocket of my jeans and soaked it.. pls do not laugh... in a Henko detergent filled bucket. Alas! My phone was destroyed.
Next, life was becoming hell in the old firm.. I wouldnt give out the details least the people in my firm find out a way to this blog....I went for an interview on Sunday and clinched the deal.

As I wait for him...
As I wait for him..
My heart pines for you my love
The silver lining on my cloud of desires
Where are thou sailing away on the thousand seas.
Do you miss me? My heart asks...
Feeling the caress that gently tugs the strings of my soul
Do you think about me, my mind questions
As the sands of time leave the sea of thoughts
My heart pines for you my love

A few stray thoughts on a wicked wednesday
The events of the week have prompted me to update my blog. This week for the media began with the familiar news of the impending Abhi Ash wedding on the 20th April... it seems to be the biggest event rocking the country. The worst thing was what I saw yesterday on one of the news channels where they were playing random videos that showed Abhi and Ash dancing together at some awards ceremony (Yawn! as though the viewers haven't had enough of this family's nonsensical antics) as a kind of trial to what they would be actually doing at the wedding (which the poor viewers are going to miss anyways).. Utterly Ridiculous!
The second event that shocked me is the recent shootout incident at a college in Virginia, US, in which 32 people lost their lives... A South Korean student was identified as the gunman. As reported by leading national dailies, two indians have lost their lives, which is unfortunate.
The third event: A 'Prince' falls into a deep sewer...once more... this seems to be getting too deja vu-ish...
It doesn't stop here... fourth: Richard Gere was found to be "forcing himself upon" a well known actress by smooching her at a public event. This event was blown to proportions by the so called moral police (Wonder where these people are when incidents like those of Bhawari Devi and Aruna Shanbaug take place.... in addition to a multitude of rape and sexual abuse incidents in the country.) As seen historically, the "white" scapegoat rendered an apology through a well known socialite friend and the episode died its natural death.

Weekend Hues, Weekday Blues
We had a great weekend.. Good friday began with a journey to Alibaug. The place is called Saswane, a sleepy village 20 kms from the main village of Alibaug. The place was hot, the desert sun charred the entire farmland to reduce it to plots of black ash. As we tried to grapple with the heat, the caretaker informed us that there is power cut everyday for 8 hours. Ahhh!!We spent the first day relaxing, the four hour journey had exhausted us. The men poured their poison in plastic glasses and dived into the so-called pool. (if it could be qualified as one.. as it was as large as a duck pond.) We went for lunch in a popular restaurant called Vaibhav... since it was three in the afternoon, we had to settle for whatever was available. The fish thali was yummy! The lunch and the heat had an effect on me as I contracted a high fever and spent the rest of the afternoon tossing and turning in bed as my cousins and friends dashed off to the nearby Saswane beach. When they returned, they informed us that the beach was nothing but a sea filled with oil slick and black mud... Yuck! The evening was spent in darkness because of the powercut and we amused ourselves by talking about our encounter with ghosts and such other phenomena. The next morning, we woke up and took a walk on the beach and we were greeted by the obnoxious sight of locals relieving themselves on the beach.. Eeks!
The perfect Ending
The weekend ended perfectly... until you know the events that led to the death of an innocent soul.
A perfect day, the beginning of the week...
A young lad, six years old...
Going to the school blissfully unaware about the fate that was going to befall him.
The shadow of death that would wrap him in his arms and whisper its cold kisses in its ear...
The vehicle came raging and in a split second catapulted into the air and smashed the tiny body into smithereens...
Why, oh why is god so unjust....
The poor mother who had to face it, wailing, screaming, hoping that time turns a few minutes behind..
A perfect day, begins and ends...once again.

Battle of the bulge Part II
Tryin to lose weight desperately.. sorry ppl, but hope I do not sound like an anorexic or a person who advocates "size zero" or whatever that is. The problem is craving for food and not just any food but the fattening variety.. and chocolates. Kya karen khandani problem hai. Anyways trying to push myself to do some yoga everyday.. whether its working or will work is a question that has no answers.

BAttle of the Bulge
I am trying hard to lose weight. It seems to be a futile exercise but I am hopeful. Yesterday my instructor learned to calculate the BMI and she announced that I was overweight. I was like "Duhhh! tell me something new." But it was a wakeup call. Requires more stringent efforts on my part to try a bit more harder...
But, as they say... tomorrow is another day!!!!

Today is a special day since I finish it is my first wedding anniversary
How has the journey been? One would ask.
The road till here has been a bumpy ride with few potholes here and there. But overall the ride has been merry. It has opened me up into a variety of experiences, some happy, some nasty. I wouldn't say the word 'sad' cos that would be an understatement.
Lets hope there are more rides to come henceforth.

I wanna break free....
